FUNCTIONAL CHARACTERIZATION OF NEW DISEASE-ASSOCIATED GENES
We model new disease-associated genes using innovative methods, including hiPSCs-derived neurons andÂ
stem cells from human exfoliated deciduous teeth (SHED)
In the last years, the use and development of models for the characterization of new genes has become fundamental. We are focusing a lot of energies in this field, using innovative in vitro approaches (hiPSCs, differentiated hiPSCs, CRISPR/Cas9, SHED) and simple animal models (Zebrafish and C.elegans) to functional characterize new genes involved in neurodevelopmental disorders.
